Traveling ‘Pants Tuesday -Snapshots from the Chickenpants Road Trip

Eeeesh, what a busy summer it’s been! There hasn’t been much time to sit down and write anything, which is a great thing, actually. But I still want to share a couple of snapshots of the summer so far. My traveling Chickenpants has been pretty busy. For instance: We saw some dinosaurs on the Oregon coast. (This could be it’s own blog post. There are very few things I enjoy more than a really cheesy roadside attraction. This is one {Read More}

Traveling Pants Tuesday – Peoria Heights, IL!

**This is another post from the late, great Chickenpants Adventure Society. I didn’t want it to get lost in the Great Internet Reshuffle of ’15, so here it is!** I have just received word that Agent Morris Chickenpants (#002) has been dropped at Tower Park in Peoria Heights, IL! We have a plethora of photos this time, too! Check them out: (click on any image to see it larger) Thank you for your work, Handler D.!

Traveling Pants Tuesday – Brooklyn, New York

(This is actually a reprint of a post that would be otherwise lost in the Great Internet Reshuffle of ’15. It was first posted on the Chickenpants Adventure Society blog.) When Agent Sam Chickenpants traveled to Brookyln, he never dreamed he would meet Edie Chickenpants. How could he have known that he would fall in love? These missions really are dangerous. Sam and Edie were married: And enjoyed a brief honeymoon. All too soon, it was time to go. Duty {Read More}

Traveling Pants Tuesday- Museum of International Folk Art, Santa Fe

The whole reason I went to Santa Fe was because of this museum, Museum of International Folk Art. My family was happily ensconced in a business class hotel in Tucson. I love Tucson. I love being warm in March. It’s awesome. But instead of doing the easy, relaxing thing and staying put in one state, we drove 12.5 hours and went to Santa Fe. Because that is what we do. So, on glowing recommendations from various websites, the first thing {Read More}

Traveling Pants Tuesday – Southwest Roadtrip, Part Three – Tucson & The Middle of Nowhere

You were promised an art yard. Well, here it is: This yard (again found through Geocaching) is in the Sam Hugues neighborhood of Tucson, AZ. It is literally full of very cool metal sculptures. However, my very favorite part was this: THAT PORCH! THOSE COLORS! The whole house was painted in numerous bright colors. I LOVE IT. It was an all caps moment. This is basically how my dream porch…of my soul…would be painted. I didn’t even know I had {Read More}

Traveling Pants Tuesday – Southwest Road Trip, Part Two – Tucson

When I tell people that I like to go to Tucson once a year, they usually wrinkle up their noses and say something like “Ugh. Why?” THIS IS WHY. Well, this is only one small part of why. No one photo can sum it up. Tucson is basically a weird wonderland, where something odd is around every corner. It’s not Disneyland, or any sort of major city. The thrills are smaller and weirder. My obsession with the place is admittedly {Read More}

Traveling Pants Tuesday – Southwest Road Trip, Part 1- PDX-Tucson

I’m back! Holy cow was that ever an exhausting trip. It turns out that what Google tells you will be a 7.5 hour drive can really be more like a 12.5 hour drive when you figure in normal human things like stopping at roadside attractions and breaks where you stop in towns in the middle of nowhere desperately looking for tofu. (Long story.) I always forget about that stuff. And that was actually just one small part of my week. {Read More}

Traveling Pants Tuesdays – Around Portland, Oregon

Chickenpants really get around. No, seriously, like around the world. They make excellent travel companions. Maybe it’s due to their compact lightweight nature, or maybe it’s because they’re quiet and they want to do whatever you want to do. In any case, they are world travelers. However, here are a few photos I took locally vaguely around Portland, Oregon. (That’s where Chickenpants HQ is, btw. Vaguely near Portland.) So…less world travel-y than usual, but still neat! Visiting the giant rabbit {Read More}

Traveling ‘Pants Tuesday – Marques de Riscal in Elciego, Spain

This was originally part of our Chickenpants Adventure Society project, but it’s too fabulous to be forgotten. Who’s that at the top of the stair? It’s Agent Edith, #010! She has been dropped at the Marques de Riscal in Elciego, Spain. After a few weeks in Paris, Edith decided to spend a little time in Rioja wine country. She found the Spanish lifestyle suited her quite nicely and when her family continued on to San Sebastian, she stayed put in {Read More}

Traveling ‘Pants Tuesday – Canadian Skiing Adventure!

Today I have some wonderful shots to share with you, taken with TINY SKIS! All these photos are by Marta Brackmann, Chickenpants collector extraordinaire and generally all around awesome lady. Let’s go skiing in Ontario! Twee Chickenpants is ready for takeoff! Backflip! Ironcross! She sticks the landing! And the Chickenpants wins the gold! Who knew Chickenpants could be so athletic?
