While I was searching for something in the library catalog, a book about crazy quilting showed up as a recommendation. I requested it on a whim. I’m in between things right now, so I am more or less all about whims. This whim turned out to be a good one. The book inspired the pants off of me, and I got right to work.
Here, at last! was a way to use those fancy embroidery stitches I so admired but could never figure out what to do with. At last! a place for orphaned embroidery projects and precious scraps. I felt like I had found my calling in life.
The quote, for those not in the know, is from Auntie Mame. The Rosalind Russel version, of course.
(Okay, so maybe life has been kind of nuts since I finished this one piece. And so maybe I have another similar piece still unfinished on my desk right now. But still. This means…something.)

(The book in question is an older one, but SO worth it if you’re into this sort of thing: The Magic of Crazy Quilting: A Complete Resource for Embellished Quilting)
