False starts and stops

The simple thing to do would be to say, “Hey, you guys! I made a thing!” and to flash some pictures at you, like so:
But you all know that I’m not one to do the simple thing and leave a short story alone.
I’ve got so much backstory on this. I’ve got hopes, dreams and philosophies stitched into this thing. Whatever it is. (Textile art? Embroidery? Applique? Fabric collage? Oversized overfancy coaster?) But I can’t get the words to come out, and I’m afraid that if I let the words out, this will be Yet Another False Start, instead of The Next Thing.
Oh, and I probably won’t make another thing like this. Whatever it is. I have a bag full of other ideas. It’s merely the first step on the giant trail that is The Next Thing.
So, actual information about this thing. Um, it’s a…it uses felt. And cotton. And lots of embroidery floss. It measures 4″ x 6″, rougly the size of a postcard. It’s an embroidered applique textile art fabric collage. Thing. I’ll come up with a better name for this soon.
It took me the better part of my creating stuff time for the week. I actually worked on other projects while this was going, though.
Here’s the back:
The backs of embroidered things are fascinating, don’t you think? So messy. Well, mine are.
There you have it. The start of something…hopefully.
